EarthWISE signs a location agreement with Kumamoto Prefecture and Yatsushiro City
EarthWISE Co., Ltd. has signed a location agreement with Yatsushiro City, with the participation of Kumamoto Prefecture. We are opening the "EarthWISE Yatsushiro Development Base" in Matsue-machi, Yatsushiro, for software development. Operations are scheduled to begin in December 2026, and we plan to hire 20 new employees.

Why Yatsushiro
This is more than opening another office. We want to create new jobs in Yatsushiro, which was hit hard by the 2026 Kumamoto earthquake. That is where this began.
Our representative, Kamiya, is from Kumamoto. He had a friend who wanted to work in system development but could not leave Kumamoto. No one should have to give up the work they want to do because of where they live. That is part of why we chose Yatsushiro.
When we thought about how to give something back to Kumamoto, we chose not a one-time donation but a business that takes root in the community and contributes over the long term through jobs. We are investing in Yatsushiro and creating 20 new jobs there.
We want to support recovery through business and employment, not one-off aid. That is the choice we have made.

We filed a patent application for an RFID tag for lost children and safety checks
On September 11, 2026, EarthWISE Co., Ltd. filed a patent application with the Japan Patent Office for "EarthWISE YOURSELF," an RFID tag for lost children and safety checks.
It is a passive NFC/RFID sticker for children's belongings. If a child gets lost, the person who finds them only needs to hold a smartphone over it, with no app required, to see the information needed, and the parents receive a notification with location. The tag holds only an ID, not personal information. It can also be used to check on older people and to confirm safety in disasters.

We built "Nemuri Score," an in-house app using the Google Health API
In May 2026, the Fitbit app was renewed as the "Google Health" app in Japan. About two weeks later, we built our own system that automatically pulls sleep, heart rate, HRV and step data measured by Fitbit through the Google Health API and stores it in a spreadsheet every morning.
We turned the data into "Nemuri Score," a sleep visualization app where a moon character shows the sleep score with its expression. It is an in-house technical PoC: we tested a new API ourselves, from authentication design to implementation and visualization.
EarthWISE takes on work for Abstec Inc., a startup from Keio University. On Wednesday, May 13, 2026 (15:50–17:00), our representative Yuichiro Kamiya presented at "earthkey pitch vol.216," an online startup pitch event hosted by earthkey Inc., as Senior Manager, Technical Solutions Sales at Abstec.
